How I’ll be glyphing next patch
3.1 is bringing some welcome changes to our glyphs, finally making more than a few actually useful for tanking. Here’s how I’ll navigate this brave new world of glyphing when the next patch drops:
Major
- Glyph of Divine Plea — Pretty much mandatory at this juncture. 3% DR is nothing to sneeze at.
- Glyph of Seal of Vengeance – SoV is our primary tanking seal, so the extra threat/mitigation of the 10 expertise skill is something we’ll just about always have up.
- Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous — This one I’m dropping Glyph of the Righteous Defense for, because after some hefty soul-searching I decided that I’d rather have extra threat in situations with four or more mobs over an addition 8% chance to hit on a taunt that I now have a backup for.
Minor
- Glyph of Blessing of Kings — A helpful mana saver, and considering how generally bad our minor glyphs are this’ll at least get some use.
- Glyph of Lay on Hands — Definitely looking forward to this one. Remember the days when LoH had an hour cooldown? Now it can be as low as 11 minutes. Signs and wonders, my friends, signs and wonders.
- Glyph of Sense Undead — Eh, like I’m never setting foot in Naxx ever again. And Northrend is still crawling with undead.
on a side note…. am I the only one that happens to use hand of Reckoning more often than the GOod old Righteous Defense?
grrr i have yet to see that Divine Plea glyph on my server… i´d cut off my right hand to get one…

They’re only learnable randomly from world drops of a “Book of Glyph Mastery”… I wonder how long it’s going to take someone to get it. I’m bracing myself now to see it on the AH for 1000g.
139G on my server ATM, only saw like 3, all of them from the same guy…
I got a noob question…
If you get the Glyph of salvation(minus 20% dmg taken when you cast Hand of Salv on your self), and use the spell and cancel it, does the effect remain? or does it go away? because if it stays, you can selfcast and remove with a macro, and get a mini shield wall, and if it stays only while Hand of salv is active, you can pop it, and keep the monster taunted via RD or HoReckoning if your aggro drops to a dangerous level.
Can anyone confirm this?

The mitigation will hold as long as you have the salvation effect on, so when you cancel the effect, the mitigation will go away too. I’m still a little wary about how this could easily go awry to be willing to try it myself.
humm, Like I said, I’m willing to use it as a mini bubble wall, IF the bubble in question is on CD, and well, my Threat isn’t on dangerously low levels ( which hasn’t been the case since I tried t tank on Naxx 10 with the bare minimum stats)
and to be honest, after seeing how hard the Ulduar Thrash hits, my fear of being undergeared is haunting me…
oh, and molten colossi hit like trucks, trucks that knock your ass down, and silence you…
In my server has a bunch of them, costing about 130g to 200g, but dont have many scribes doing it yet.
