Grinding my gears, and confusing Dalaran with Belfast
For the past few days this tool–er, night elf–has been hanging out in front of the Horde-side bank in Dalaran, on his Red Proto Drake, somehow undismounted, and just sitting there. For long stretches of time too.
I don’t get this behavior. Doesn’t this guy have anything better to do with his time?
If I can get Freudian for a moment, maybe what bothers me most is that he’s poking around on the “wrong side of town”. The north side bank is closest to the Sunreavers’ Sanctuary, so it is in my mind the Horde bank.
It’s kind of a West Side Story mentality if you will, with all the requisite fingers a-snapping gang wars in the center courtyard.
I tend to avoid the south side for the same reason. Feels like trespassing.
Am I the only one that feels this way about Dalaran?
The northside bank is a lot closer to the forge and anvil; my Alliance toons with engineering/mining/blacksmithing all park in that bank, and I’ve seen plenty of hordies in the south bank too. I’d say they’re about 75/25 – if I’m looking for a hordie (for an achievement to throw snowflakes or rose petals on him, for instance) I’ll usually go to the north bank first, but I’m never weirded out by being there, or by seeing a Hordie in the south side bank.

Hmm, must be my server because there’s definitely a very obvious/distinct separation of the two factions between the two banks here. Like 98/2!
And I definitely did the same thing with the rose petals/snowflakes achievements, haha. All my Alliance quarries were found on the south side.
Hm – I can’t say that I’ve noticed a marked disparity of the bank patrons of the north bank. I always go to that bank because I heart in to the Inn right there and I like it better there ’cause the park is right next door.
I avoid the south bank at all costs.
The ones that get me are when players get killed, and then log for a while without rezzing. The corpse just lays there. When I was grinding H UK for the infantry assault blade and unsmashable band, there was an orc named Broxigor who somehow died stuck halfway up the summoning stone. His corpse somehow got glued to the stone at click level, and he didn’t log back in for like three weeks. I think he started to smell.

@TRM: Haha yikes, you think all those carrion birds flying around Vrykul Keep would have done something about that after a while!
Something similar happens on my server, every time a big celebrity dies a string of alt corpses named after the deceased get dumped onto the streets of Orgrimmar.
