I started this site as a way to write about paladin tanking and force my views of recent WoW news upon an unwitting public.

The Player

I’m a 25 year-old Boston-area guy currently working in the technology publishing industry as an editor. I’ve been playing WoW off and on since launch way back in 2004, first as a Troll Hunter, and now (since 2007) as a Blood Elf Pally.

The Toon

My main is Rhidach, a Blood Elf Paladin on the Lightninghoof-US server. Currently and forever specced Protection. This blog is partly the story of his “adventures” in the game we all love.

I made up the word “rhidach” from jumbling around the Irish Gaelic word for knight, “ridire”. It is pronounced “rid-ik” (like, the “Chronicles of Riddick”), but I’ve heard people call me anything from “red-itch” to “ree-datchy” to “ry-dak”.

Anafielle, the Co-Tankadin Errant

Anafielle is Rhidach’s co-tank, off-tank, strategy and gearing consultant, and general partner in crime. She makes up the other half of Enveloping Shadow’s “All Paladin, All The Time” tanking team. Anafielle transferred to Lightninghoof and joined Rhidach in May 2010.

The Player

In real life, she is a 24 year old girl who lives in Charlotte North Carolina and manages a small internet retail firm. “Anafielle”, like all her character names, is an obscure literary reference. She can always be reached on twitter at @Anafielle or by email at anafielle AT gmail DOT com.

The Toon

Anafielle off-tanks for the 25s and leads a serious guild 10 man known as Team Bravo. She guest posts on the blog when Rhidach is gone and can otherwise be found gifting the blog with a novel-length post from time to time. She is dual-specced Protection and enjoys 10 man strategy, gear theory posts on Maintankadin, and reading tank blogs at work.
